Description:This course involves a careful examination of the different processes involvedin CBSPD. Upon completion of training, students receive a Certificate of Completion and prepare to take the proficiency examination by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD). Some of the areas of study: Roles and Responsibilities; Microbiology; Infection Control; Decontamination; Patient Care Equipment; Preparing and Packaging of Surgical Instruments; Sterilization; Sterile Storage; Distribution. Program Requirements/Admissions: Must be at least 18 years old; Complete admissions process; Complete an enrolment and financial agreement; Pass the entrance exam with 70% or better.
